The return of the Special Olympics Ireland Games to Limerick was celebrated in style at a sell-out fundraising evening in the Cornstore Restaurant.
Sporting guests on the night included Munster Rugby’s Felix Jones, Damien Varley and team manager Niall O’Donovan, Limerick FC’s Carel Tiofack, Sam Oji, Jason Hughes and Limerick Camogie manager Joe Quaid, who joined local Special Olympic athletes for “An Olympic Evening” at the Cornstore. The event featured recent rugby retiree and Special Olympics Ambassador David Wallace as MC, and another rugby legend as guest speaker in the form of Keith Wood who sits on the Council of Patrons of Special Olympics.
